Deathbringer Saurfang

This is a pretty simple fight for the healers, as you can see from my video you don't move around much. You want to stay at least 10 yards away from any other member so that if casts blood nova on you, he will only gain blood power from it hurting you. At the beginning of the fight you will think 'hey this is easy I wonder why we have so many healers for this' well that's because after a while it gets to be not so easy.

The Blood beasts come out (5 on 25-Man and 2 on 10-Man) and your dps will try and down them without them ever hitting anyone, if they do end up hitting anyone then it will give him blood power for every time they hit. Since this fight is all about controlling his intake of blood power the ranged will attempt to down them before they get a chance to hit anyone. The blood beasts will spawn near Saurfang so your dps will have to make sure they aren't using any cleaves or aoe spells because its easy for one of those blood beasts to get caught in melee. Typically you don't want the melee taking down any of the adds but my raid was very melee heavy so we had them stun lock 1 of them and down it then go back to the boss. As a healer you will have to watch the blood beasts and make sure that if they are coming for you that you get away from them.

When his blood power gets full he will use a skill called Mark of the Fallen Champion on a random raid member and they will start taking quite a bit of damage, and it will give him blood power every time it does damage to that target making the next mark come faster. In my raid we only got 1 mark the entire fight and we used the strategy to let the person who gets the mark die (so long as they are not a essential member like tank or your main heals), yes deathbringer would heal for 5% of his max health but the next mark wouldn't come quite as fast. This strategy should only be used on 25-Man because in 10-Man you have so few players that all of them are pretty essential.

At 30% of his health he has a soft enrage and healing will get a bit more intense on the tanks and the marked targets but its very healable. This is when we pop'ed Heroism in our group. All in all this is a pretty straight forward and simple fight so long as you control those adds, the add control will make or break you.

Heroic:

This fight is a great deal harder on heroic mode so be ready. While his base abilities are still the same they have been modified to make your life hell. For this encounter we used 2 tanks, 2 healers, and 6 dps. As I'm sure you've noticed in the regular version of the fight that this encounter is pretty healing intense towards the end. So on heroic it would more then likely be a nightmare to 2 heal, well you are very right however it must be done for reasons that I will soon explain to you.

One of the first things you will notice is that the blood beasts now move a great deal quicker, and not only that but they now can easily 1 shot you if you arn't a tank. So you no longer have leniancy with the adds they MUST be controlled and you have to do it pretty well.

The next thing you will notice is his extremely large health pool, yes it is a lot bigger then it was on the regular mode so you will really have to work on getting him down before you get overwhelmed with marks. Well if the health pool is so big why not just 3 heal it and have a better hold on the marks? Because without that extra dps you will never get the adds down in time before they start wiping your raid, and if even 1 person dies its going to be a wipe so you can't afford that.

Also instead of healing for 10% of his health if someone with the mark dies, he now heals for 20%, so keeping them alive is a top priority or you will have no hope of killing him.
