Lady Deathwhisper Video Not Working

I guess for many people the Lady Deathwhisper video that I posted is coming up with an error saying "This video contains content from WMG, who has decided to block it." So... I guess I have to redo it with a new song, which totally sucks because I was using Stayin Alive by Bee Gees It was pretty fun but alas whoever WMG is won't let me show my video. Oh well, I'll try and get it back up for you guys as soon as possible. If you know who WMG or anything about what is going on here let me know! leave a comment.

I've got a bunch more videos that I've recorded to put up, however its hard to find a good song to mix it with and If I'm going to be having trouble with WMG when I upload with the wrong song then I might just end up talking during it. Keep an eye out for those videos thanks for watching, hope you are all having fun in Icecrown Citidel.

Here is an updated list of the new druid items, if there is an ** next to the item you can hover over it to see the heroic version of the item. Another thing you should remember when looking at these items, I added all the healing items not all of them are best suited for Druids.

Healing on the Blood Princes

On this fight you'll need 3 people tank healing. On 10 man that means everyone will have to take a tank and raid heal at the same time, fun right? Well on 25 man this wasn't difficult because well we had two raid healers that could help out with the tanks, but on 10 man it got pretty healing intense. The fight really wasn't constant raid damage so much as lots of burst raid damage, like when people were not watching where they were standing and got hit by a shock vortex.

As for when the fire guy gets empowered, its real simple you get the ranged dps to stack up and you have the person who gets targeted to run away making sure to put the group between him and the fireball. If for some reason one of your raid members doesn't do this it will wipe the raid, don't feel bad there is nothing you could have done, it is their fault. But the fire ball comes pretty quick and it is easy to be on a healing spree and not see it target you in time. So what I suggest to you is to position yourself to run out before hand then keep healing. If it targets you all you have to do is press go and zoom problem solved. As of yet I don't think DBM flashes a big blue warning on your screen if it targets you, but your name will appear in the general warnings so pay attention!

The only other thing that I can say for this fight is, the tank of the shadow prince can be a ranged dps, but it is very touchy, if for some reason at any time they don't have enough of the orbs the healing on them will get very intense, I suggest you have another tank do it, however it is indeed very possible for a ranged dps to do.

My original goal was to record this fight for you guys before I wrote anything about healing it, but truth be told they are getting old fast and soon I will have new content to deal with, and I still need to buy an external hard drive to record onto while I play. So sorry guys you don't get to watch me take on the blood princes. Or if you do it will come at a later date and I will just post it for fun.

Getting to know your fellow Tree's

I just got done arguing with someone on a forum simply because my healing style wasn't the way that he heals. So first thing I want to say is everyone, open your minds to new ideas and the possibility that there is more then 1 successful way to heal as a druid. Awesome now that we have that out of the way I would like to point out some of the different ways druids heal, I want you to remember that the ways I point out are not the only ways to heal there is always another way and another persons preferance.

You can heal to keep people alive, simply puting hots on as many people as you can and then trusting your other raid healers to top them off, so long as you make sure they stay alive. That is one method that seems to be druid friendly. Some druids like to do tank healing, and put all their hots on a target and then spam nourish. There are so many ways that you can heal and not one is right and the other wrong, so don't discriminate or look down on other healers simply because they do not use your method.

My question for you guys is, what is your healing strategy? Leave me a comment and let me know.

Decursive

I was looking at my previous posts earlier and I ran in to the first post that I ever did on the site, which was this:

Add-ons

First of all one add on every Raider should have not just the Healers would be DBM (Deadly Boss Mods). It alerts you when Bosses are doing signature moves, when you get de buffs that have to be taken care of, can in some cases predict a bosses next move so you can be ready for it, and many more features valuable to raiding

Healbot is one ad don that I live by. It allows for you to cast your heals with simple 1 click of the mouse. Not to mention it comes in handy when trying to buff everyone up especially if you generally use thorns. It also displays which HoTs (Heal over Time Spells) are on each party member so you know who has what of yours and exactly when it runs out.

Recount is always a nice add on to have, however don't judge your Healing based on it. HPS (Heals Per Second) is not the same as DPS (Damage Per Second) with healing, your HPS depends on how much damage is being taken by the rest of the raid, and how many healers you have in the raid.

You should also keep in mind when downloading add-ons that every add on that you download is that much more your computer has to run. which could slow down your speed. Many Top-End Raiding guilds don't allow their members to have any add-ons that are not essential. It may seem like not a big deal but small things add up.

I don't know what I was thinking, there is another add-on that is a must have for not just Resto druids, but an add-on that I would suggest every raider to have, is decursive.

Decursive is an add-on that will inform you of who has what debuffs, but only if you have the ability to cure them. It creates a little square for each person in the raid, similar to grid however this is very small. Clicking on the persons square will cure them, just like that. For example druids have [Abolish Poison] and [Remove Curse]. So when I log onto my druid decursive knows I have those two skills and so it programs itself to turn the party/raid member's square red when they have something on them that can be removed with [Remove Curse] and it turns the party/raid member's square blue when they have something on them that could be removed with [Abolish Poison]. When I see a square with one of these colors I simply click it and poof curse/poison gone. Decursive will change its commands based on your class so there is no programming or settings adjusting required. You can imagine that if you have everyone in your raid with this add-on then curses and poisons will not last long and will greatly reduce the stress on your healers.

New Professions

So I finally decided to take the next step in maximizing my heals, Changing my professions. Previously I had been Herbing and Alchemy which I loved because it brought in some money as well as my flasks lasted 2 hours each which saved money during those long intense raids. They weren't the best for maximizing my healing however they didn't give any plus spellpower. So I looked into Leatherworking, Blacksmithing, Enchanting, Tailoring, Jewelcrafting. They all in the end gave the same additional spellpower. So i choose leatherworking, and the second one I wanted to choose was enchanting but that seemed like a pain to level being already 80, so I choose Jewelcrafting as my second profession. I didn't feel too bad about giving up my farming professions because I have a couple alts that I also changed their professions to be farming professions, they will now be the money makers for me.

The first one I leveled up was Leatherworking and I decided to do this by just buying all the mats out of the Auction House, not my best move, I was able to do it but it cost me almost 6k gold. Now I don't know how much leather sells for on your server but I would suggest you don't power level via the Auction House.

When I went to level my Jewelcrafting I decided to take a cheaper route. My Palidan is and always has been a miner, so I went online and looked up every mat I would need to get from level 1 to level 450 and I went and farmed them. This got old pretty quickly but only lasted a couple days of farming for a few hours. Now this did not mean that I didn't have to spend anything leveling it, I did have to buy the skills and as all of us miners know gems don't drop that often so rather then spending even longer gathering the gems, I just bought the remainder of what I needed gem-wise after I was done farming all the mats. In the end I spent less then 1k leveling my Jewelcrafting, much better right?

So now I want to hear your guy's profession choices, and why. I haven't quite finished leveling my money making professions on my alts yet so let me know what your money making alts do, and how it works out for you. How are you going to let me know? Well that's the next thing I wanted to let you guys know. My web site now has commenting!! So you don't have to go through the hassle of sending me an E-Mail. There will be a comment button below each article I write from now on, if you have anything at all to say, go ahead and post it.

1/06/10 Update

So I was reading up on MMO yesterday and this morning about some changes and rumors of changes to WoW. Basically there is the one that almost everyone knows, yesterday a new wing of ICC opened up called Plagueworks. In it there are 3 new bosses. Festergut, Rotface, and Professor Putricide. So far I've downed Festergut and Rotface who were both pretty easy. Haven't yet attempted Professor Putricide, my guild decided to wait until there was a general strategy up somewhere online to attempt him. The reason we wanted to wait and not just make a strategy of our own is that they are trying out a new thing with him where you only get 10 attempts to down him each week. Rotface and Festergut however you get as many attempts as you want. Also at the very beginning of the Plagueworks quarter there are a bunch of adds, which means lots of reputation for people who aren't exalted yet. My opinion is that I am in no rush to get my ring, I'll get it eventually, so I haven't been "farming rep" like everyone else, I just pick up the rep from the runs we do.

They also nerfed Lady Deathwhisper yesterday when the new quarter came out, if you were trying to take her down the first few weeks in 25 man mode you know that it was pretty challenging getting enough dps on her mana shield and getting enough damage on the adds to get them down, while still staying inside the enrage timer time. Well now they have reduced the size of her mana pool thus making it easier to take down her mana shield. In addition they have made it so that the caster adds in the encounter take a little bit longer to start casting after they spawn.

Today on MMO I was reading a quote from blizzard that said they were contemplating making Heroism/Bloodlust Drums! Originally they made shamans as sort of raid enhancer's. A class to bring into the raid to really make the party shine, and that's exactly what they do, I mean they give 4 buffs with their totems, and heroism! They are rethinking this because it makes shamans essential to the raid and the way they want things to be is more... you don't need a shaman to be successful but they are just as beneficial as any other class. One thing they were talking about doing to help bring that idea in were to make Bloodlust/Heroism drums. There is no final word on whether or not they are going to do this but that is a definite possibility.

Last thing I would like to mention is that the guild I am in, Sacellum.net, is still looking for a boomkin to join our raiding, for more information on it look at the article below this one. We have a wonderful raiding group that is friendly (no yelling at anyone in vent, no harsh words) and yet productive! We would love to have you.

Looking for Boomkin

Hello everyone, my guild was talking today and we would like to recruit a Boomkin that could come to our 25 man raids regularly. If you would like to learn more about the position send me an E-Mail at Arria@TheRestorationDruid.com or you could apply at Sacellum.net

Our early 10 man raids begin at 7 server time which is the same as PST time, they last until we start our 25 man raids which begin at 9:30 server or PST time, 25 man raids happen every day of the week except friday and saturday. Our 10 man Late raids start right after our 25 man raids end, which is either when we complete what we went in to clear, or at 12:00 server/PST time.

This guild is not a guild for new players or for someone who just barely got their boomkin to level 80. This guild is for experienced raiders who know their class and play it well, players that can follow directions and execute the strategies to the fights well. We don't always 1 shot the new fights, they take some time to get down, be ready to keep trying until we can get it, sometimes that means a lot of wipes. We expect to have your main character in our guild and we only take your mains on our runs, so your druid has to be your main or you have to be ready to make it your main. Oh and just FYI we do sometimes do alt runs that you can take your alts on.

New Project = Done!

So I finally finished part of my new project! Its a flash guide for ICC, I only have 1 boss done so far because it takes FOREVER to make. However if you guys use it, and you like it send me an email at Arria@TheRestorationDruid.com and let me know, If I get the feeling that people are liking it then I will make some more :)

Also, This took me forever to make and I want it to be perfect and as helpful as possible. If you see any mistakes then you should let me know and I will fix them. Also if you have any additional tips that you would like me to add to the role specific tips part, let me know and I will add them.

Welcome to 2010!

Hello everyone and welcome to 2010! I hope you all had a fun, and safe Holiday. I could start with a recap of what happened in 2009, but we were all there, we all had fun, so to hell with 2009 lets bring on 2010! What better way to bring on the new year then 3 new Icecrown bosses for us to kill? That's right everyone, the next gate opens on January 5th! The new section is called Plagueworks, and the bosses names are Rotface, Festergut, and Professor Putricide. Now that the holidays are over things should be getting back to normal again.

I also decided to change the header a bit for the new year, I changed the font and edited a few more things to make it look a little cooler. Let me know what you guys think! Send me emails of your new years resolutions, what fun things you did on new years.

One more thing I would like to call to your attention, if you would like to read any of my previous articles or see one that you may have missed, they can be found under the Archives listed to the right.

25 ICC down!

So I had written something about me downing 25 ICC before the new year but somehow it didn't transfer over to the archives file, and I was a dummy and didn't have a backup, so I don't know what happened tonight and I'm just going to say a few things here instead.

The only bosses we really had trouble with were Lady deathwhisper and Deathbringer Saurfang. The things that make the Lady Deathwhisper encounter difficult are Evening out your dps between the two sides of the room so that you can get the adds down in time, while making sure there are ranged who are ready to kill any reanimated fanatics when they come up. This isn't that hard but you also have to make sure you have enough people who are constantly on the boss to get the mana shield down in time to get her down before her enrage timer goes off.

The Deathbringer Saurfang encounter requires a lot of organization. You must space everyone out 11 yards apart or else he gains his blood rage too quickly and you end up with a lot of marks. In 25 man there are also 5 blood beasts that spawn and you have to get them down before they hit any of your raid members or else he will once again gain too much blood rage and will wipe your raid. A useful strategy to use with the blood beasts is to spread the damage on each between all the different blood beasts, none should be being killed by the Melee and have the Blood beasts pulled by someone with a lot of agro (1 suggestion I have would be a couple Holy Pallies with [Righteous Fury] on) straight down the center of the room, when they get too close have a Shaman use [Thunderstorm] or you could have a Druid use [Typhoon] to knock them back, they won't have time to get back to you, and if they do then your doing something wrong. With the proper execution and dps you should be able to get him down with 2 or 3 marks, which is easily heal-able. If your party is having a bit of trouble getting it PERFECT however there is another thing you can try. If you let someone with the mark die then he no longer gains blood rage from that persons mark, so you could let your first and second people to get marks die. You can't battle res them or they will res with the mark still on them and he will get the blood rage, they have to stay dead, you can only let a couple people die also or else you won't have the dps to finish it in time.
