Elders Achievment

This Achievement and title wasn't exactly hard to get but it was very tedious, I mean going to every elder in the easter Kingdoms, Kalimdor, Northrend, Dungeons all over the place and your opposing factions capitol cities, it took a few days to do and a lot of time but was pretty simple, another Title to add to my collection. Now I want to work on "Guardian of Cenarius" title. I'm already exalted with Cenarion Circle, but I'm only honored with Cenarion Expedition and have already done all the quests I can find, so what I need to do is start running steam vaults, problem is it takes FOREVER as a healer, I need to get a friend to come along and kill things for me or something, or just suck it up and put the time in.

Valithria Dreamwalker

So I'll start out by saying that this is a unique boss encounter, instead of healers being the support so that the dps can take down the boss, this time the dps will be the support so that the healers can heal up the boss. Typically you'll want a few healers on dreamwalker full time, I've found that paladin healers are usually the best suited for this. You will also need a couple people to stay on raid healing, that is what role I played in my video. So lets dive more in depth into the two different positions to play.

Boss Healing:

Occasionally throughout the fight she will spawn portals into "The Dream" when you enter you will be swimming through the air and around the dragon (She is all healthy in The Dream) and you will be picking up these green orbs that will give you buff that will increase your healing by 10% and stacks without a limit that I know of, as well as restore mana. Dreamwalker has quite a large health pool and healing on her will go slowly, your going to want the healers that are on the boss full time to go into The Dream every time that they can and gather as many orbs as they can. The more stacks of the debuff the you get the stronger your healing spells will be and the quicker her health will thus be going up.

Raid Healing:

Raid healing in this fight is pretty much just like most fights, there will be adds coming out of the 4 doors in the corners of the room. The tanks will pick them up and dps will kill them. There are a few adds that do particularly more damage then others however. Blazing Skeletons do an ability called Lay Waste which will do uninterruptible raid damage that will wipe your raid really quickly if not dealt with. There are also Risen Archmage's that will cast Frostbolt Volley which, even though it says nearby enemies it will pretty much hit everyone in the raid with frost damage as well as slow them. If you get low on mana you can jump in a portal real quick and grab a couple orbs to regen your mana, but to be honest the raid damage is very manageable and you shouldn't have to, the only reason I did in my video was to show you guys what it looked like. I put set dreamwalker to my focus target and she appeared on my healbot as well, so it was very simple to make sure I had all my hots on her at all times. Whether you use healbot or not however I suggest you throw heals towards dreamwalker if you get a chance, I mean every little bit helps ya know?

Things everyone should look out for:

The Risen Archmage's will create Mana Void's which appear as flashing shadow orb things and will reduce your mana quick, watch out for them and stay away from them so that you don't have to go in The Dream and steal some of the boss healer's buffs. There will also be blue circles spawning on the ground that you will want to stay out of, if your on one when it activates you will be thrown into the air and take frost damage that is very avoidable.

There are some CDs that you will want to save for when your boss healers get lots of the healing buff stacked up. Some of these buffs are Heroism/Bloodlust, and Guardian Spirit which can be cast on Dreamwalker and helps a TON.

If your a Paladin here is a very useful guide for you from HealingCouncil.com.

Learning to Trust

One of the most important things that a healer will have to learn at some point is to trust your fellow healers. This is why its good to find a guild you enjoy or a set group of people to run with, this way you get to know who your healing with and begin to trust them. Each healer in your raid should have a job that suits them, whether it be raid healing, tank healing, or whatever they're assigned to do. I am usually assigned to raid healing and thus try to spread as many of my HoT's through out the raid as I can (most of the time). I am trusting the tank healers to keep the tanks alive, now if I see a tanks health going down sure I'll pop something on him/her but my main focus is always the raid. Basically don't worry about what the other raiders are doing, trust them to be doing their job and concentrate on doing your job to the best of your ability.

Another Perspective:

Think about it this way, you have lots of dps in your raid, well if they are all watching the other raiders to make sure they are doing their job right then that leaves a bigger margin of error for them. It is the job of the raid leader to make sure people are doing what they are supposed to be doing, and a good raid leader will be able to do this while they do their job. So you want all your dps to be focused on doing their job perfectly and pushing as much dps out as they can. Same thing apply's to healers, try and get your job done perfectly and TRUST that the other healers will do their job as well and trust that if they aren't the raid leader will pick up on it. One thing I suggest is to set your recount meters to show the dps if you are heals, watching your HPS meter will just distract you and your worrying about the other healers again, the stats will be there when you are done... TRUST!!!

Happy Valentines Day!

So I hope you like the new header I made the site for the love is in the air week in WoW. I had lots of fun doing it. So midnight the day it started I put together a group to go do the new boss and record it for you guys :) I hope you got a chance to see it even though you all know the fight by now inside and out. So I did that recorded it, put it on the site went to bed. Then the next day came and I decided I really needed to get a head start on my 'the Love Fool' Title because I didn't want to end up not getting it. So I start doing all that fun stuff, by the end of the day I had it. So I had nothing festive to do the whole rest of the week except my daily SFK boss's. The reason I ended up getting it so quickly is me and a few guildies decided to see if we could get charms from the Flame Laviathin trash, which we did and we got several bags full of charms.

In the spirit of the holiday I have a fun question to ask all of you. Have you ever had feelings for someone online? Maybe you have enjoyed talking to someone a little more then you should, maybe you had a crush on them, maybe you even got romantic with someone over WoW? I want to hear your story! If you don't have a story then I want to know if you know anyone who has done something like this before or what you think about the whole online dating thing.

My Story:

I have enjoyed talking to a couple people a little more then I should over WoW before, it never elevated to more then just flirting but I guess I've had small crushes before. Once on a Warrior and once with a rogue. My story isn't that interesting but I guess that's all I have. Lets hope some of you have better stories then I.

Idol of the Black Willow

So the newest Item I have bought with frost is the Idol of the Black Willow. This replaced the old triumph Idol of Flaring Growth, I was reading up on forums and such to try and decide which Item to buy next and noone was suggesting this for some reason but I thought it sounded like quite the upgrade so I did it anyways and have now seen it in action and get to pass the knowlege on to you :).

The old Idol gave a chance on tick of your rejuvenation spells to grant 234 spell power for 9 seconds, this proc'd quite often but would also have a little bit of down time which I didn't like. The newer frost Idol however stacks up to 8 times with every tick of rejuvenation with a cap at 256 spellpwer. Ya we all know this is obviously better but to most people it didn't seem like a huge enough upgrade to worry about yet. The way I read it, the new Idol sounded like the spellpower would have 0 down time after it got up so long as you kept rejuvenation on someone. So i got it and have tested it out and yes unlike the old Idol this one will stay up throughout the entire fight, and if you want to get it up before the fight even (for people who like to squeeze out every little bit of power that they can Edit: Truth be told if you spam rejuvenation this will be up almost instantly anyways tho.) then you can even put rejuvenation on someone before the pull and it will stack up and you will begin the fight with the 256 spellpower and it will last throughout the entire fight.

New Valentines Boss!

This fight is a very simple fight fight and will require very little healing if people do what they are supposed to. First you pick up the daily quest which can be found with a goblin right before you enter the courtyard area. He will give you a bag containing a Cologne Neutralizer and a Perfume Neutralizer. The Cologne Neutralizer negates the harmful effects of irresistible cologne, and the Perfume Neutralizer Negates the harmful effects of Alluring Perfume. The cologne shows up as a green cloud and will primarily be thrown down by the boss with the green shield around him. If your standing in this cloud of green you will take quite a bit of damage, to avoid the damage completely you need the cologne buff. Same deal with the purple cloud and the Perfume buff. That's all there is to this fight. The boss has a chance to drop a pink rocket mount, here is a link to a picture of it click here He also drops quite a variety of neck pieces :) Have fun guys let me know how it goes for you.

4-Piece set bonus for Tier 10

I finally got the 4-Piece set bonus for Tier 10 a few days ago, I've been working on this for a while and now have it and have tested it, done research on it, and ready to let you all know what I've found out.

Based on what I have read on other peoples blogs as well as forums and basically any information I can find on the web has said that the bonus heals for around 10% of your overall healing, which is pretty appealing to me because during the duration of a fight that really adds up. I've only had the opportunity to test it a few times so far but what I have done has supported these numbers. Further testing will have to be done especially since they are editing it a bit. I read today on MMO that they were making these changes:

  • "The rejuvenation procs from the Druid Tier 10 will now work better in a raid group and not avoid targets that have any rejuvenation spell on them though it will continue to avoid targets that have the casting druid’s rejuvenation on them."

What I believe this means is that previous to this patch the bonus would avoid putting rejuv on players that already had rejuv from another druid, however now it will only avoid people that already have a rejuvenation from YOU. I'm not quite sure how this will effect the amount healed, my guess is that it won't have a huge effect, if anything it would bring the number up.

I enjoy seeing a random rejuv pop up on a raid member before I've had a chance to click them, it always brings a smile to my face and I can see the set bonus working. I've noticed it help with my healing in fights like the blood queen as well (which by the way is probably my new favorite fight, its very fun to heal you will see your HPS skyrocket too). This set bonus is awesome and very worth getting, I will be doing more testing on different fights and get back to everyone with more information if anything new comes up.

New Raid Weekly Quest

Yes people you read it right there is a new raid weekly quest, this one is Icecrown Citadel specific however and can be picked up inside. Basically it will give you a specific thing to do while killing bosses or just a certain boss to down, and then when your done you get a Sack of Frosty Treasures which should give you 5xEmblems of Frost and a chance at an epic gem. The quest giver will not be in the same spot every week because of the changing quest however they will appear once you pass a checkpoint that triggers them. I have made a list of the possible quests below.

This week my Guild got Residue Rendezvous on 25-Man and then killed festergut and called it for the night, which we now realize was a mistake because the kill gives you a debuff that is one of the requirements and by now it is long gone. So I guess were screwed for this week hopefully we have better luck on our 10-Mans

Which Ring?

Hello everyone and welcome to February! With the coming of the new month I cleared out all the old posts and put them in the archives which you can find with the other links. Back to the post at hand I've been looking at the Ashen Band of Endless Wisdom, Its not really a druid ring... I mean its a great healing ring don't get me wrong but since it isn't very druidy if there were some other rings that were better in slot, so here is the list of healing rings that I have come up with:

[Ring of the Darkmender] (Alliance Only)
[Circle of the Darkmender] (Horde Only)
[Band of Deplorable Violence] (Alliance Only)
[Lurid Manifestation] (Horde Only)
[Marrowgar's Frigid Eye]
[Ring of Maddening Whispers]
[Ring of Rapid Ascent]
[Signet of Putrefaction]
[Cerise Coiled Ring]
[Incarnadine Band of Mending]
[Memory of Malygos]
[Ashen Band of Endless Wisdom]

Now I want to point out that none of this is final, soon we will be able to unlock heroic modes not to mention the lich king might drop us a nice druid ring? Most of these are from ICC however I threw in the rings from 25 ToGC because they were close to the same Item level.

Starting with Ring of the Darkmender, it's nice because it has haste rating on it however it has MP5 instead of spirit and is very similar to Marrowgar's Frigid Eye but with less haste, so we'll throw that one out. The Band of Deplorable Violence looks pretty nice however it has crit instead of haste so it was very druidy before patch 3.3 but might not be ideal for us now, it is also very similar to Ring of Maddening Whispers, but this new one has more stamina, intellect, spirit, and spell power so we will probably be going with the newer one. So far that rules out keeping anything from the ToGC days which is unfortunate, we worked pretty hard for those, had to happen some time though right?

Moving down the list we've already discussed for the most part the next two rings which brings us to Ring of Rapid Ascent. This ring is similar to Marrowgar's Frigid Eye but with less haste and crit instead of MP5, I personally wouldn't use this ring because I use rejuvenation and wild growth a lot more then I use Nourish or anything that can crit now that we've gotten rid of our T9 set bonus to make way for the T10.

Signet of Putrefaction is lesser in every way from the Marrowgar's Frigid Eye except for the fact that it has a red socket which is nice, so I'm just going to say no to this right now. Same deal goes for the Cerise Coiled Ring when compared with the Ring of Rapid Ascent

Incarnadine Band of Mending I would never go with over the Marrowgar's Frigid Eye simply because It has crit instead of haste, however once again this is because of my playing style. If you prefer to spam nourish this might be a better ring for you.

Memory of Malygos, now this is a druid ring right here its got spirit and haste, spell power and well a yellow socket which isn't what I would have asked for but I'm not going to be picky, this will definitely go on my wish list.

In conclusion the Ashen Band of Endless Wisdom may not look druid ideal but there aren't many other rings out there that can beat this proc. I will be looking for Memory of Malygos and the Ashen Band of Endless Wisdom I believe. However I do not yet know what the Lich king will drop, who knows maybe it will be a really nice druid ring.
